Each piece is shaped by Florentin and his team in his Cumbria workshop - using traditional joinery, hand tools, and intuitive craftsmanship - no templates, no shortcuts.
It’s slow, expressive work that transforms reclaimed timber into functional, one-off works of art.
Description
The Pendle Nesting Tables
Reclaimed | Handmade | One-of-a-Kind
"I was once a schoolhouse floor in 1930s Bergen – slow-grown Norwegian pine, worn smooth by decades of quiet footsteps, chalk dust, and the rhythm of daily lessons. Now I’m a set of nesting tables – compact, purposeful, and ready for new routines."
Each Pendle set is handmade from reclaimed Norwegian pine, salvaged from the floors of a disused school building on the edge of Bergen’s old town. Grown in the cold northern climate, this pine is denser than typical softwood – with a close grain that resists warping and ages with quiet dignity.
Florentin and his team craft each piece by hand in Cumbria. The three tables are cut square, clean-edged and proportioned to nest together seamlessly – stacking down small or spreading out when needed. Every joint is measured with care, and nothing’s added that doesn’t serve the structure.
Because of their previous life, many of the surfaces carry signs of use: small notches, softened corners, and tonal shifts where the floorboards met years of wear. These aren’t flaws – they’re a part of what makes each set entirely individual.
Just 40 sets of Pendle Tables were made.
This is furniture that remembers where it came from – made to be used, and made to endure.
Please note: No two sets are identical. Variations in grain, tone and finish are intentional and part of what makes each Pendle set unique.

Care instructions
Our reclaimed wood pieces are made to last - and they don’t ask for much in return.
- Wipe with a soft, dry cloth regularly to remove dust.
- Avoid harsh cleaners or polishes - a damp cloth with mild soap is all you’ll ever need for deeper cleans.
- Keep out of direct sunlight and away from strong heat sources to protect the natural finish and avoid warping.
- A touch of natural wax once or twice a year will help nourish the wood and enhance its character.
These chairs have already lived long, eventful lives. A little care will ensure they continue to for decades to come.
